Klamath River fishing... Excellent!

I'm working back into my busy season now after a nice summer with my wife, Lisa.  As many of you know, Lisa is a teacher, and I load my calendar extremely heavy from late August through late May in order to spend the summer together.

I had been hearing the glowing reports from the Klamath for some time. Yesterday, I ran my first trip of the season, and I have to say the fishing is really good; there are some very nice fish in the river.  The size of the salmon is somewhat reminiscent of the 2002 run when we were all under-gunned with the equipment we normally used. There has been a lot of buzz about water conditions and a potential fish kill looming.  While the surface temp was around 70 degrees, which is pretty normal for the river this time of year, the fish fought really hard, and I saw no signs of any problems.  The river has no moss floating in it, and the Bureau of Reclamation has started releasing water down the Trinity, which will most certainly cool the Klamath down a bit.

I have had a couple of prime September dates come open recently that I'm going to throw up for grabs.  Those dates are the 14th and 15th, as well as the 17th.  If you're interested, just give me a call or shoot me an email.

Good fishing.
