In the Wake of the Week #4

This last week there were virtually no steelhead in the Smith River.  I fished three days for no fish and cancelled the rest of the week.  We have had some really heavy rains over the past 48 hours, and the river crested today at just under 24 feet, a foot below monitor stage.  This combined with some ultra high tides should finally get this season going.  I had hoped to have some fresh pictures, but I don't.  For one more week, I will share some photographs from past seasons.  I have chosen some photos other than the standard "angler holding fish" photos. I think that they show there's so much more that goes into a great guided trip than just the fish.  You just have to look for it.

One of the great perks of this job is that you get to witness some amazing sunrises.
